Extreme fire hazard warning across the whole state today. Gale force winds. Therefore, I’m still doing my hiding at home thing. I really have to get out and do some furniture shopping. Chilling out having my breakfast while reading my morning newsfeeds and watching the gale force winds kick up the dust and garden debris outside. Eating a cold and sweet breakfast of yoghurt and muesli which I normally despise (the cold and sweet brekkie, not the meal itself. The first meal of the day should be hot and savoury) but have to stomach because a) I’m quite hungry and b) it’s better for my sore throat, which is better, thanks for asking.
Here’s some stuff I found while unpacking:

Green tendencies from a young age, meticulously highlighted history text, old secondary school textbooks.
Managed to get rid of 5 smallish boxes (the boxes for packing 5 reams of A4 sized paper). Will drop it off at the op shop while trying to find my perfect desk/chair.
Pretty excited about how the YouTube Symphony Orchestra will pan out.
One of the winners:
They will be playing Internet Symphony No. 1 “Eroica”, a piece specially composed by Tan Dun for the orchestra.
Played by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Tan Dun himself. I love how expressive he is while conducting!
And are those cymbal/drum percussion thingies car wheels o.O
And this is the Chinese Orchestra version, played by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and conducted by Yan Huichang. Their qipaos are terribly smart.
I think I like the HKCO version better, if only because I think the Chinese instruments are a better fit for the Chinesey piece. Or maybe just because it feels more exotic and therefore novel.
