The Vic Markets

Fruit and Veg

I headed down to the Queen Victoria Markets on the Thursday before Good Friday. It was pretty crowded, and I was pushing the shopping cart, trying to avoid locking wheels with other shoppers, trailing behind my Mom who was doing the shopping whirlwind thing. Suffice it to say I was lucky to get any photos at all.

Vendor The Perfect Latte Lifestyle Fruit and Veg

Fruit and Veg I M Fat Nice handlebar

The middle photo on the first row is a sign advertising the property for sale. It’s described as “The Perfect Latte Lifestyle” and goes on to describe a property that is very white.

In the middle photo on the second row, there is a guy wearing a black t-shirt that says “I M Fat” where the ‘M’ is depicted as the golden arches we all know and love. Nice :)

I have a sudden fascination for Abercrombie & Fitch distressed denim micro mini skirts. They’d do rather well as beachwear, over a bikini bottom. I rather like my short skirts actually and don’t half wear them often enough. Somebody stop me before I whip out the plastic (or more accurately the PP) on eBay.

The Breville Professional 800 Collection Variable Temperature Kettle

kettle

The family got a new kettle. The kettle can heat water up to 5 different temperatures – 80°C (green tea), 85°C (white tea), 90°C (oolong), 95°C (coffee) and 100°C (black tea, etc). I am a tea fiend so it is insanely awesome.

Ray says it is stuff that white people like.

The New Yorker

Just found out my family has a subscription to the New Yorker.

My whiteness quotient has just gone up. It’s not on the site per se, but I’m sure it’s somewhere in the book.

Stuff White People Like

cover

From the creator of the website Stuff White People Like comes this spot-on reference guide for American yuppy/hipster Caucasian culture.

It’s pretty funny how much of it is completely applicable to me – organic food, not owning a TV, Apple products, Sigg metal water bottles, etc.

According to the book I’m roughly 43% white.

P.S. Mary Martin bookshop is the coolest bookshop ever. Books I’d actually want to *buy*, and where having an ebook copy would be insufficient.
