Totally identify with this card btw XD

I live in Zone Two and it’s a big deal getting from my place to the city, or anywhere else for that matter.

This is part of Able and Game‘s Melbourne series of cards. Buy it on Etsy here.

The Vic Markets

Fruit and Veg

I headed down to the Queen Victoria Markets on the Thursday before Good Friday. It was pretty crowded, and I was pushing the shopping cart, trying to avoid locking wheels with other shoppers, trailing behind my Mom who was doing the shopping whirlwind thing. Suffice it to say I was lucky to get any photos at all.

Vendor The Perfect Latte Lifestyle Fruit and Veg

Fruit and Veg I M Fat Nice handlebar

The middle photo on the first row is a sign advertising the property for sale. It’s described as “The Perfect Latte Lifestyle” and goes on to describe a property that is very white.

In the middle photo on the second row, there is a guy wearing a black t-shirt that says “I M Fat” where the ‘M’ is depicted as the golden arches we all know and love. Nice :)

I have a sudden fascination for Abercrombie & Fitch distressed denim micro mini skirts. They’d do rather well as beachwear, over a bikini bottom. I rather like my short skirts actually and don’t half wear them often enough. Somebody stop me before I whip out the plastic (or more accurately the PP) on eBay.

I need to get a LUSH shampoo bar for travelling, as I’m leaving this Friday. Unfortunately Melbourne is going through a high 30s-40 degree heat wave all this week so I’m reluctant to leave the house during the day. The only late night shopping day for suburbs is Thursday while late night shopping for the city is Friday – too late. The only suburban mall that has as a Lush store is at Chadstone.

Q: How far is Chadstone from here?
A: Not too far.
Q: So…how long does it take to drive there?
A: About an hour.

…Coming from Adelaide, that’s just too much trouble. I’d rather send Ray out on his lunch break to Rundle Mall (mind you Adelaide is also in its own 40 degree heat wave) to get it for me ^_^.

I’ve been chilling out at my new house for the last couple of days. I didn’t notice before but that year of living in my cramped inner-city flat was just that – cramped. Funny how you forget what it’s like to live in a place where you don’t know instantly where everyone is at any particular moment. And I’ve been having the sweetest sleeps. Yes, even though I’m sleeping on a futon in a room full of boxes.

The house is coming along nicely. The furniture has started coming in but it’s still a long way from “done”. My dad’s putting together some Ikea BESTA shelves today. I might order some for my own room too. Speaking of which, I’m sort of paralysed when it comes to deciding what furniture to get for my room. Everything hinges on what storage I get – double or single bed, bed frame, desk, chest of drawers all take a back seat. So. What type of storage should I get? How much? I don’t even know how much stuff I have till I unpack everything, and I can’t unpack everything without having somewhere to put them! These boxes were packed from a few months to up to a year ago. I can’t remember what I have!

I’m trying very, very, hard not to be seduced into buying Ikea furniture.
