
Not bad, but I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I did enjoy the philosophical monologues – very quotable – and I did enjoy the whole Good/Evil interplay, and it was probably incredibly ground breaking for its time, but…eh. I actually fell asleep during the battle scenes because it was just, well, men duking it out and it didn’t exactly move the plot forward.
P.S. I have yet to see a Japanese film with un-painful, un-awkward and plain un-sensuous sex scenes, and this film does not break the mold.
