My hPDA

hPDA in the making

Remember I said I wanted to make a hipster PDA?

Well I did.

My hPDA

I had a fun time guillotining paper. I printed out labels for the divider cards/title sheets too!
I could only use default windows fonts because *ahem* I was using work computer to print the labels. I used the Sydnie font which I’ve never used before but now quite like. It’s not overly decoratively tacky like Comic Sans MS (-disgust-) or boring like Times and Garamond. Helvetica and Dotum lack personality, and since it is my hPDA I want something that speaks of me. Normally I’d pick something like fixedsys for its retro-geeky cool, but it, and Kartika unfortunately didn’t look good at 20 points. And so I discovered Sydnie.

My hPDA structure:

  1. Transparent plastic sheet for protection
  2. Title sheet “hPDA” - heavy paper in orange
  3. For rough notes and other misc items - white paper
  4. Title sheet “Work - Priority” - heavy paper in pink
  5. For priority work to do - red paper
  6. Title sheet “Work - to do” - heavy paper in yellow
  7. To do list of items related to work - yellow paper
  8. Title sheet “Personal - Priority” - blue card
  9. To do list of priority personal items - blue paper
  10. Title sheet “Personal - to do” - heavy paper in dark green
  11. To do list of personal items - light green paper
  12. Transparent plastic sheet for protection

All held together with a simple bulldog clip, for now. Shall punch holes and swap them with a ring when I get my ring thingies from Melbourne.

I’ve been using it for a little over a week now. Sadly, I keep leaving it at work and forgetting to take it with me.

I think I should get rid of the work sections because I only think of work stuff when I am *at* work while I am at my work computer where I keep my master “to do” list and thus have no need for the hPDA.

I spend way too much time with computers - I don’t have much use for a hPDA when I spend so much time on them as the hPDA is meant to be a stop-gap for things occur for me to do and I cannot note them down on my primary to do lists on my computers.

…I suppose that means I should get out more :/
