I first heard of them while channel surfing at hall in HK (2005…wow that was a long time ago). Unfortunately caught the last bits only and missed out on the artist/title of song. Sometime later I did come across them again. I wanted to blog about it then but no vids on youtube at the time.

I’ve been a huge yt music binge today though.

Long, boring story ahead:

This girl subscribed to my yt feed…I had a look at her profile and saw some cool vids she favourited, some of which were Vanilla Mood [doesn't Keiko, the pianist, look anorexic? Srsly.] and Joe Hisaishi performances … one of which was a video response to video by this kid Ben who is a pretty awesome piano player for his age. Through that I also came across piya who plays some awesome Joe Hisaishi on piano too.

At the same time through the clicknetwork (AKA Rozz and Xiaxue’s Girls Out Loud II) I was introduced to the horrors of the teriyakiboyz’ Tokyo Drift (Fast and Furious). It’s the massively annoying but undeniably catchy theme song of FnF3. Can’t find the actual MV (copyright issues?) but found lots of fan music videos using the song and clips from FnF3. Now I want to watch the movie. Fast cars, hot girls. What more could one want?

Anyway, back to Yoshida Kyoudai. My fav part of the performance is about 1:25-1:43 when all the background music stops and it’s just shamisens+percussian. Sooooo gooood.
