For the last week I was laid up in bed with acute gastroenteritis.
It is the most unfun sickness evAR.
I have a slight cough now but that is 1000x better than gastro.
Don’t really know what brought it on. Last Tuesday I was already feeling crook - had headache, slight fever. I think my defences were lowered, and then I ate a dodgy chicken schnitzel, then BAM!Gastro!
Actually I didn’t know what I had. I had nausea and I was throwing up. I persevered without going to the doctor until Sunday night - I was waking up every few hours to throw up. At one stage hmm the stream of vomit was at such high pressure that it came up through my *nose* too. Think about it.
All the better to smell the stench of vomit…
By Monday morning I was ready to check myself into hospital.
It took me a couple of hours to find a doctor to see me though >.
In the end I went to Foundation Clinic on Main North Road. I got to see a doctor in 30 minutes which isn’t too bad. The Indian doctor new exactly what I had too (even though I doubted him)!! I got an injection because he was worried I wouldn’t be able to hold down my first dose of pills.
Anyway, I slept off Monday, was feeling almost well on Tuesday, and by Wednesday at 85%. By Thursday appetite back to 100%
Thank you God for healing me!! I can eat now!! YAY.
Also thank you God for modern medicine and Doctor Khosa. Pills are great.
